Profile

Letitia (Tish) Johnston is a first year Ph.D. student and Presidential Fellow at the University of Notre Dame. Her research interests center around seventeenth-century devotional poetry. Tish has a particular interest in speaker and voice, including women writers and the poetic speakers they create. Works addressing the topic of soteriology are relevant in Tish’s explorations of the various ways poets employ Christ as a speaker and contemplate sacrifice. Areas of interest include: Early Modern Literature, Poetry and Poetics, Milton, and Gender.
