Profile

Matthew McCullough is a Ph.D. student in English at the University of Notre Dame. His research focuses mainly on early modern literature with particular interests in prophetic writing during the English Civil War and Interregnum, seventeenth-century conceptualizations of magic, devotional and spiritual writing, mysticism, and the relationships between early modern and 20th/21st century literature. Currently, he is fascinated by the generative language of early modern prophetic writing and the relationships formed between seventeenth-century prophecy and the readers of such texts.
