Profile

Xiaohan Wang is a Ph.D. student in English Literature at the University of Notre Dame. She studies American literature from the Revolutionary period to the Civil War, focusing on the novel, the dynamics between literature and politics, and the relationship between the self and other or that between the individual and society. Her broad spectrum of interests also covers American Transcendentalism as well as thinkers and writers including Henry James, Virginia Woolf, Simone de Beauvoir, and Hegel.
